About DrugstorePrincess

♥
Hey there beautiful!
Welcome to DrugstorePrincess.com – my name is Hilary Ball, and I am the real DSP! I’m really happy that you found this blog, because the bigger this community grows, the more we’ll be able to learn from one another. This site is meant to be like an online beauty magazine – pages and pages of useful information, helpful advice, and beautiful pictures to give you inspiration. DSP is supposed to be an interactive site – ask your own questions, comment on others’, and share posts with others! It’s impossible for one person to know everything – so hopefully I can teach you a few things, and you’ll learn things from others as well.
Please take a moment to donate to DrugstorePrincess - during these rough economic times it is increasingly hard to run a quality site without a decent income. Every donation, no matter how small, would be incredibly appreciated. Much Love ♥

DrugstorePrincess is a confidence boosting blog – a negativity-free zone, where hateful comments, pictures, and ideas are not allowed. I don’t judge anyone by their gender, race, sexual preference, religion, or ideas, and neither should any of my followers. I clearly have stated that hate is not tolerated on DSP, most importantly towards other followers.
DSP is not sponsored by any person or company other than myself. There is nothing biased or selective about my reviews or advice, and I do not receive money in exchange for any type of review. This means that everything I write is 100% honest opinion.
These pages are full of information written completely by me – and because I am always learning new things, the pages are constantly being updated and reworked. You may see some “Page Under Construction” signs – so check back in the near future to see my finished work!

I am not a professional. I have never taken any cosmetology classes, nor am I employed by any salon or other establishment catering to beauty needs or products. This blog is purely passion, and all of the information I’ve learned on my free time – from fashion magazines, internet articles, personal experience and of course, other blogs. I do makeup professionally for some people in my area for special events (proms, weddings, etc.) Why haven’t I gotten my cosmetology license? Because it’s a waste of money and time, in my opinion!
I have tried almost every drugstore product out there, for hair, makeup and skincare as well. I have also used a vast amount of high end products, so I have an extremely varied knowledge and level of experience with all products.
If you have questions about certain products or techniques, ask away! If I do not personally know the answer I promise to research it as well as I can to give you the best answer possible. I also promise to provide pictures and all necessary information that I feel is vital for you to get the best results! That dedication is what sets DrugstorePrincess apart, in my opinion – and it is also why it takes me a very long time to get through all of my questions. I simply ask that you have patience with me.

+ I don’t think that you have to be a professional cosmetologist to do beautiful makeup and hair. Beauty is an artform that is constantly changing – perhaps the most personal art someone can make. Anybody can create the art in whatever way they choose. There is no right or wrong way.
+ You don’t need makeup to be beautiful. Yes, DSP is a blog committed to giving advice on makeup, hair, and skin products, but most of all I want to instill a feeling of confidence in EVERY one of my followers, because you really are ALL beautiful. Beauty is definitely not determined by appearances – it’s what’s inside that counts.
+ I don’t think that wearing makeup defines a person. Makeup should not be used as a mask to hide behind, or as a face to lure people in. Makeup should simply be used to enhance one’s natural beauty. If you are wearing makeup to impress others, you’re not wearing it for the right reasons. Makeup should be worn for fun – to make you feel good.
+ I also believe that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to find quality products. You can find great items without spending an outrageous amount of money, although many label snobs don’t seem to think so. This blog is meant to weed out the good products from the bad, high and low end.
