GLOSSYBOX Monthly Subscription Review

It’s high time that I review this cosmetic subscription!  Monthly beauty boxes are all the rage right now, and sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what the pros and cons are.  Here I will be discussing my thoughts of my GlossyBox subscription, as well as the contents of two of my boxes!

image

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription that ships several cosmetic products to your doorstep every month for your enjoyment!  GlossyBox is unique in that they specialize in “Luxury” brand items, often from companies that are hard to find or are at the higher end.  This subscription is available in 15 countries, including the United States, Canada, and the UK!

This subscription costs $21 per month (with discounted subscription rates of $3-$9 if you prepay a for a few months in advance)   This is more than most other beauty subscriptions, but you must take into account the fact that these are “luxury” items, not drugstore products or dinky perfume samples.  After testing out the contents of these boxes and thinking long and hard about it, I definitely believe that GlossyBox is worth the cost… which is saying a lot, because I’m not one to spend money freely.

My only disappointment is that not all of the boxes are the same each month - some people will get different items in their box than others.  This isn’t necessarily problematic, except for I like to read other reviews and I always end up wanting to try out the items I didn’t get!

Visit the GlossyBox website HERE to read more and/or subscribe!

Here are the boxes I’ll be reviewing:

Overall, I was completely impressed with all of the contents in these boxes.  I loved the variety of items in general, as well as the quality of those items.

September’s Box:

This box contained a Kryolan GlossyBox lipstick in Glossy Pink, a mini set of Global Keratin Juvexin shampoo & conditioner; Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water (makeup remover), and a full sized Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream.

Needless to say, I was most excited about the Missha BB Cream.  American BB creams simply don’t even COMPARE to Asian versions… this Missha one is impeccable.  I mentioned it in my October Hits & Misses post (found here)

I also was really impressed by the GlossyBox lipstick!  It ended up being a gorgeous creamy shade of pink - very natural and perfect for any occasion.  The texture was smooth and non-irritating, plus the color was very opaque.

However the product I ended up enjoying the most was actually the Cleansing Spa Water.  I don’t normally buy bottled makeup removers because I find them unnecessary (I use regular old olive oil and it works wonders!), but this product blew my mind.  It was lightly rose scented, and felt cool (as in, chilly) on your skin.  It did a great job of removing my eye makeup and did not irritate my eyes or my skin whatsoever.  In fact, it felt very moisturizing and soothing!  I love it and hope to never run out.

November’s Box:

This box contained a full sized Epionce Restorative Hand Cream, a solid perfume stick from Perfumies, a small Skin&Co Truffle Face Serum, a bottle of Arganics Argan Oil by NuMe, and an Illamasqua Lip & Eye Medium Pencil in Thrash.

image

I love every single item - initially I was a bit underwhelmed, but now I use almost all of these products every day.  The serum by Skin&Co moisturizes my face without irritating it whatsoever, and makes it look radiant. I’ve been using it daily underneath my makeup!  The hand lotion by Epionce is very intensive and makes even my dry, sad winter hands feel baby smooth.  I’ve been using it on all of the driest areas of my body and it’s working wonders - plus, it’s not greasy and the scent isn’t too strong or unpleasant!

I’ve gotten several compliments due to my use of the Perfumies Solid Perfume Stick - it is perfect for the daytime, and is really handy to keep in your purse in case you  ever need a scent pick-me up.  The Argan Oil makes my hair shiny and smooth without weighing it down or making it look greasy… plus the bottle comes with a little dropper for mess-free application.

Here is a swatch of Illamasqua’s “Thrash” on my lips:

What’s not to love?

I can’t wait to see the contents of future boxes, and I’ll be sure to let you know what I think!

GlossyBox would make a great gift for a friend or loved one this year… so why not send them a few month’s worth of beauty goodies?!    Visit the website here to check it out and sign up!
