| What does a deep conditioner do to your hair? I have really thick, wavy hair, and I was hoping it'd smooth it a bit and add some shine. Do you have any recommendations? | ||

Deep conditioner does exactly what it sounds like it does - it deeply conditions your hair. It will help add moisture, which makes your hair healthy, and healthy hair is shiny, smooth, strong, and frizz free.
Deep conditioners are different from leave-in conditioners because they are meant to be treatments that you wash out after a certain amount of time. They are similar to hair masks (pretty much the same, actually) and you use them every so often to restore your hair. I definitely suggest that EVERYONE use a deep conditioner every once in a while, whether it’s one you buy or a concoction you make yourself, especially if you use any kind of heat in your hair (blow dry, curling, straightening)
