Aw, this is cute and very informative!

Make sure you CLEAN your falsies after EACH USE to keep them from getting “gross”.  If you clean them well and store them carefully, you might be able to use them more than 2-3 times.

I have a large, in-depth post all about falsies that could help you - you can find it *here*  :)

Clean Your Falsies!
Cleaning your fake lashes not only keeps them looking nice and working properly, but also helps prevent the buildup of bacteria between each use.
It is important that you clean your falsies thoroughly every time you take them off.
You Will Need:
Cotton Pads/Rounds
Q-Tips
Makeup Remover (any will do)
Rubbing Alcohol (at least 70%)
It’s easy, quick, and doesn’t take an expert to do this!
Apply makeup remover to your cotton pad… enough to make the pad wet all the way through.
Place your false lash on the cotton pad, and fold the pad over the lash like a blanket.  Gently press on the pad to soak the lash with makeup remover - not so hard as to bend the lash the wrong way or flatten it.
Open the pad and wipe the lash gently across it to remove any mascara or eyeliner.
Use your fingers or tweezers to carefully remove excess glue from the base of the lash strip.  The makeup remover should make it easy to get the glue off.
Next, dip your QTip in rubbing alcohol, and wipe it across the lash thoroughly.  This will get rid of any bacteria and oil remaining on the lash.

Once your lashes have dried, store them in an airtight container to keep them clean and protect them from damage.  I use a pill sorter that I got at the dollar store!

I just found you from Pinterest and I seriously love the blog!!! Best one I've seen yet. I was wondering which drugstore brand of fake eyelashes you like the best for thick, full lashes and if you would ever recommend doubling up on lashes for special events? Thanks in advance!! :) :)

Thank you so much!  I’m glad you like it :)

I love Red Cherry lashes… when I can find them!  I usually buy them in bulk online, and I am always excited if I find them in a store for a good price (I found them at the Dollar Store once!)   They have a great selection of styles and colors.

Ardell Fashion Lashes are probably my favorite, however - they’re much easier to find and they also come in a huge variety of styles, from dramatic to everyday appropriate.  They also own Salon Perfect lashes, which you can find in Walmart (I’m always stocked up on them!)  They are quite inexpensive and you will definitely be able to find those full, luscious lashes that you’re looking for!

If you’re looking for some inexpensive lashes that you can double up with, try ELF’s Dramatic Lash Kit.  They’re only a dollar each and are very easy to work with (although I do recommend getting your own glue - the ELF one is useless).

I don’t usually like doubling up on lashes because it can feel heavy on your eyes - instead I prefer to find a thick set of lashes that gives me the look I want with one pair.  Many people do double up, and there’s nothing wrong with it as long as you can get it to look right!

Do you possibly have any tips for false eyelashes? how to apply them, what kind to get, etc? thanks so much!

Of course!  Falsies can seem intimidating, but as with anything, they’re easily mastered with just a bit of practice.

Quick Tips:

+  For most eye shapes, falsies are a bit too long, so don’t be afraid to trim them a bit (from the inside).  Try them on first just to see.

+  Using tweezers to place the lashes on your eye can help make sure they’re in the right spot and steady your hand, but don’t be afraid to use your fingers to hold them in place while the glue dries if that’s easier for you.

+  Apply eyeliner first, and then cover any glue spots afterwards as well to make the lashes look seamless.  Also, apply mascara after you apply the falsies to bring both your natural and fake lashes together so they look natural!

I have more tips and recommendations on *this in-depth post* if you want to check it out!
