Aw, this is cute and very informative!

Make sure you CLEAN your falsies after EACH USE to keep them from getting “gross”.  If you clean them well and store them carefully, you might be able to use them more than 2-3 times.

Clean Your Falsies!
Cleaning your fake lashes not only keeps them looking nice and working properly, but also helps prevent the buildup of bacteria between each use.
It is important that you clean your falsies thoroughly every time you take them off.
You Will Need:
Cotton Pads/Rounds
Q-Tips
Makeup Remover (any will do)
Rubbing Alcohol (at least 70%)
It’s easy, quick, and doesn’t take an expert to do this!
Apply makeup remover to your cotton pad… enough to make the pad wet all the way through.
Place your false lash on the cotton pad, and fold the pad over the lash like a blanket.  Gently press on the pad to soak the lash with makeup remover - not so hard as to bend the lash the wrong way or flatten it.
Open the pad and wipe the lash gently across it to remove any mascara or eyeliner.
Use your fingers or tweezers to carefully remove excess glue from the base of the lash strip.  The makeup remover should make it easy to get the glue off.
Next, dip your QTip in rubbing alcohol, and wipe it across the lash thoroughly.  This will get rid of any bacteria and oil remaining on the lash.
(This picture is a Before and After)
Once your lashes have dried, store them in an airtight container to keep them clean and protect them from damage.  I use a pill sorter that I got at the dollar store!

Do you possibly have any tips for false eyelashes? how to apply them, what kind to get, etc? thanks so much!

Of course!  Falsies can seem intimidating, but as with anything, they’re easily mastered with just a bit of practice.

Quick Tips:

+  For most eye shapes, falsies are a bit too long, so don’t be afraid to trim them a bit (from the inside).  Try them on first just to see.

+  Using tweezers to place the lashes on your eye can help make sure they’re in the right spot and steady your hand, but don’t be afraid to use your fingers to hold them in place while the glue dries if that’s easier for you.

+  Apply eyeliner first, and then cover any glue spots afterwards as well to make the lashes look seamless.  Also, apply mascara after you apply the falsies to bring both your natural and fake lashes together so they look natural!

I have more tips and recommendations on *this in-depth post* if you want to check it out!

what's your favorite brand of false eyelashes? Love this blog, thanks for all your advice & tips :)

Thanks hon, I’m glad!

I don’t really discriminate when it comes to falsies, and I never spend much money on them.  I suppose my favorites are Red Cherry and Salon Perfect, which are both quite inexpensive but still really nice quality.  I always choose lashes that are made with natural hair, because synthetic/plastic lashes look really unnatural.

Salon Perfect lashes can be found at stores like Walmart, and you can often find Red Cherry lashes in drugstores or even dollar stores!

HI! So i don't know if you ever use false eyelashes, but if you do, do you know of any drugstore brands that are good for first time users? Thanks!

Hey there!  Falsies can seem like they’re a bit ridiculous for everyday, but I love them for all sorts of occasions.  They really pull any look together and make you look polishes and fabulous.

My favorite lashes from the drugstore are by Ardell… or their sister brand, Salon Perfect (which you can find at Walmart). Lashes made from natural hair not only look much better, but I also find they’re easier to apply because they fit to your eyes a lot easier.  Plastic ones aren’t as flexible and are harder to adhere perfectly to your lashline, but they do tend to be cheaper.

Try:

Salon Perfect Lashes - $3 each - $5 for Starter Kit

ELF Natural Lash Kit - $1 each
