| I just started following, but I love your page already! Sorry if it has been asked before, but do you know of a lip plumping product that doesn't make your lips feel all sticky? I have the hardest time finding one! Thanks!! :) |

Aw, thank you so much! That makes me really happy :)
In general, “lip plumpers” don’t actually plump up your lips, they just create that illusion. They are either very shiny glosses, which visually create poutier looking lips, or they contain different ingredients like spices or mints that sting the skin of your lips, making you feel as though your lips are swelling. Of course they could also be a mixture of the two of these. Generally, lip plumping glosses are very thick and sticky on purpose to create a more 3-D effect on the lips, making them look larger. However any gloss will significantly make your lips appear poutier and more plump! My favorite glosses that aren’t sticky and still have a lot of color and thickness to them are Revlon Colorburst glosses!

Another really good idea that has been gaining a lot of popularity, are lip plumpers that come in a stick/pencil/crayon type of form. They are sheer and don’t feel like a sticky gloss, but still have that tingle and shine that people associate with lip plumpers!

Hard Candy All Glossed Up Lip Stains - $6 at Walmart

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains - $7

Buxom Lip Tarnish - $19

| What, in your opinion, is THE BEST drugstore concealer? |
◥ |
|
emily22hannah |
In my opinion, as in for my personal use, I like Hard Candy Glamoflauge the BEST… although you can only find it at Walmart stores or online.

It provides super-duper-full coverage, and hides everything I need it to - from redness, to blemishes, to dark undereye circles. You get a lot of product in the tube, especially considering you only need a tiny little dot of product to cover anything, and it blends out easily with a brush or your finger. Use too much and it can get a bit cakey, but like I said - a little drop will do, so don’t go squeezing out half the tube. You need less of this concealer than any other concealer I’ve tried, which in my book, means value.
The texture is very thick and creamy, and not very liquidy at all, which could be strange for some people. It lasts all day and I have no problem using it alone with just a bit of tinted moisturizer, or with a full on face of foundation.
Unfortunately there are only three shades - Light, Medium, and Dark, but unlike some brands “Light” is actually very light and “Dark” is quite dark… they aren’t all just a variation of beige.
You also not only get the tube of liquid concealer, but a small pencil concealer as well. I love using this to outline and perfect my brows and lips, and it works really well as a crease-proofing base for the liquid.
Also, it only costs $6 - very affordable in my book! Once again, you can find it at Walmart stores, on Walmart.com, or HardCandy.com :)

| Hi just found this blog, and absolutely love all your advice/opinions i am a huge fan of bronzers, and shimmers, what would you say has the best color/glow to it? what is your favorite bronzer? also do you have any favorite gradual tanning lotions or self tanners? |
◥ |
|
kayyyyydf |
Hello, thank you!
If you like a shimmery bronzer, then baked bronzers are definitely the way to go. They have a gorgeous sheen that is finely milled and not chunky or glittery - they look natural, but still glow.

Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Heatwave - $8

Milani TanTastic Baked Bronzer in Sun Glow - $8

Lorac Tantalizer Baked Bronzer - $32
I also really like these shimmery, but not “baked” options:

The Balm Betty Lou-Manizer - $24

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Bronzer - $8
I have a bronzer addiction too, and I don’t think I could pick just one bronzer as my favorite!!
As for a gradual self tanner, I think that my favorite easily-accessed one is Jergen’s Natural Glow. It gives the best color without streaking terribly, and it also provides moisture. I just hate the smell of it.. mostly because it’s a memory triggering scent for me haha.
I also love Banana Boat Summer Color - I can’t find it year round, but that might just be because I live in NY and the demand isn’t there in the winter.
But my favorite tanning lotion that I’ve used is Color Couture! I was sent their products a few months ago and I fell in love. St. Tropez is also very good, if a little bit pricey! :)

Hello :)
My current favorites for dark circles, etc:

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser - $6
This has a really great formula that feels so light on your skin, but actually gives nice coverage. It blends well into the skin and feels soft and natural.

Maybelline FitME Concealer - $6
This provides really good coverage and blends flawlessly into the skin. It also feels very light on your skin without looking greasy or cakey.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer - $6
This is a very full coverage concealer that covers even the most severe dark circles (or blemishes, or redness, etc). You only need the tiniest amount!

I have lots of favorites, haha. Usually I look for a matte finishing powder, because my skin gets a bit oily througout the day. Here are some:

Hard Candy Welcome Matte Translucent Pressed Powder - $7

Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Pressed Powder - $5

L’Oreal True Match Pressed Powder - $7 (Don’t use translucent powder on special occasions, because they will make your face look ghostly in photos)

Airspun Loose Powder - $6
| How do you apply the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer because everytime i use it creases really bad |
◥ |
|
bubbyblog |

Because Glamoflauge is a very full coverage concealer, if you apply it under your eyes, or in other certain areas, it may have the tendency to crease. But if you apply it correctly, I’ve found that this almost never happens.
Glamoflauge comes in two pieces… the large tube of liquid concealer, and the small pencil concealer that most people tend to discard or forget about. Warm the pencil up on the back of your hand, and then apply it somewhat messily to your skin. Smooth it out with your finger and make sure it’s smooth. You will apply your liquid concealer over this.
With the liquid concealer, you only need a tiny amount… and I mean TINY. The concealer blends very easily, and because it’s so thick, you only need the smallest drop to cover a broad area. I don’t blend this with my fingers, I use a small buffing brush, or a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush. This will really blend the makeup into your skin, and this technique with the pencil will keep it from creasing.
Of course it is very important to, no matter what, set your concealer with powder. Just a light layer of powder will do, and it will make a world of difference.
Hope this helps you!
Hard Candy products are sold exclusively at Walmart, or online :)
| Hi! I'm trying to expand my makeup collection but I need help - if you had to choose 5 makeup products, which ones would you choose/brands? Also, is foundation essential? I need me some help, haha :( |

omgstef |
Hello! Expanding collections is what I do best ;)
1. Concealer - Concealer is the perfect tool for hiding skin flaws without covering up completely. It can brighten up under your eyes or simply disguise a pesky pimple, instantly boosting your confidence. If I had to pick one:

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer - $6
2. Mascara - This is the one thing I almost never leave my house without putting on, simply because it makes a major difference in the way you look with minimal effort! Simply spiffing up your lashes a bit makes you look more awake and alert, and draws attention to your eyes without using a ton of makeup. If I had to pick one:

L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof - $8
3. Gel Eyeliner - There are many types of eyeliner, but gel is probably the most versatile. It goes on smooth and sharp like a liquid, but can be smudged and applied like a pencil! Eyeliner helps define your eyes and can be anything from barely-there to dramatic and edgy. If I had to choose one:

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner - $6
4. Blush/Bronzer - This might be cheating, but they can both be used for similar things. Blush and bronzer give color to your face, giving you more character and giving your makeup a natural look. You can often find duos, too, which give you great options! If I had to choose one:

ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer - $3
5. Lipstick - Lipstick is my preferred method of lip color… it gives an instant punch of color, and it is rich and sophisticated. There are so many shades and finishes, it’s impossible to get bored! If I had to choose one:

Revlon SuperLustrous Lipstick - Matte Pink Pout - $7
No, foundation is not essential. It’s purpose is to create an even base for the rest of your makeup; to even out your skin tone and hide skin flaws. If you have nice skin and are confident without foundation, there is no reason to start using it. :)
| ive read about the candy primer youve mention and ive looked for it in all my local wall greens but i just cant find it... do you have any suggestions? |

Hard Candy products are exclusively sold at Walmart.. and online of course. They were once a high end brand, but then sold the company and are now producing their products for people shopping at a lower price point. So you won’t find them in Walgreens! haha :)

Something that you’ll find in any drugstore that works just as well as high end primers (perhaps even better) is Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel. It’s perfectly fine to use as long as you don’t get it in your eyes (same with any cosmetic) and works like a dream. This contains a large amount of silicone, which doesn’t work for all skin types, but it is very effective.

Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination Skin!!

I say it all the time, and I’ll never change my mind. It’s really the best for that skin type, by far. Apply this over moisturizer with a brush and it will look absolutely perfect.
If you can’t get the Revlon one, Maybelline Superstay or Rimmel Lasting Finish are other options that do a decent job of controlling oil and staying on your skin, but in my opinion they don’t work nearly as well. They are a bit cheaper though.

Oily skin types can really benefit from using face primers and/or face powders. Primers smooth out the skin and create an oil-absorbing layer between your face and your makeup. Powders will soak up oil that appears on your face throughout the day (but if used in excess will look unnatural). Both will help your foundation last longer throughout the day!

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Original Face Primer - $6
Investing in a good setting spray could really give you that perfect complexion that you want. These set your makeup very well, without building up too much product on your face and making it appear cakey. Instead, setting sprays will give you a dewy finish that looks very natural. I highly recommend spending a bit of money on a higher end one, like Urban Decay De-Slick, or Skindinavia Setting Sprays.

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray - $29

Skindinavia Setting Sprays - $29
ELF has a setting spray, called the Makeup Mist and Set, which is only three dollars! It works well, but it doesn’t control oil quite as well as the higher end ones, and the spray bottle isn’t as nice. However I use it daily… I use UD All Nighter for special occasions. :)
Hope that helps you out and gives you some ideas! Thanks :)
Product Review! Hard Candy Fox In A Box in Spicy & Sweet

The swatch below demonstrates the color of each individual square (the positions of the small swatches correspond with the colors in the pan) and the large swatch at the top is all four blended together.

This blush is an excellent color for spring. In the pigment department this blush does not disappoint, but it does produce quite a bit of excess powder in the pan after you swirl your brush. It’s very blendable, smooth, and despite the fallout in the pan it doesn’t look too powdery unless you really pack it on. The packaging is ADORABLE, albeit a little flimsy when compared to the Benefit boxed powders.
A fun feature of this blush is that it has a quad of colors. Since this isn’t one solid color you have some control over the outcome of the color. If you want it to turn out more pink, or more coral, or dirty all you have to do is stick to two squares. Hooray for custom color!
The brush that comes with it is very flimsy and thin, so I would recommend using your own blush brush. The lid also is a little stiff and won’t stay shut right out of the packaging so it takes a lot of bending to break it in so it will stay closed.
Price: $6
Size: 0.2 oz
Where to buy: Wal Mart
Color:
- This has 4 squares of color (shimmery coral, shimmery dark berry, shimmery pink, and a matte mauve) that all blend together to make a coral-y orange.
Pros:
- Pigmented
- Blends well
- Smooth application
- Isn’t too powdery
Cons:
- Swirling your brush in the pan will create a lot of excess powder
- The brush that comes with it is practically useless
- The lid takes a while to break in so it can close
Overall Rating: 8/10
