Victoria’s Secret Pro FX Smooth Lip Scrub and Balm
Review Submitted by http://laayysee.tumblr.com!
Want smoother lips? Try Victoria’s Secret’s Pro Smooth FX Scrub and Balm. It’s $14.99, so not too pricey, and it works WONDERS. I suffer from extremely dry, chapped, flaky lips, so I’m always slathering on chap stick but it never seems to cure my dry lips. I’ve also tried using my tooth brush to exfoliate my lips, but that doesn’t seem to work either. After I had heard about this Lip Scrub and Balm from VS, I just knew I had to try it — and I love it! It really does make my lips feel so extremely smooth and soft and FREE of dead skin! And the packaging is GENIUS!
All you do is screw off the top, grab a little bit of the scrub and massage it into your lips for about 30 seconds to a minute. Make sure you rub in the areas where they are most chapped to remove the dead skin. After about 30 seconds, take a clean towel and wipe off the scrub. Then, just apply the balm and voila! Smooth, sexy lips :)

im going to IMATS tmrw and i posted 2 pics of what im wearing.
can you give me advice on wut eye look i should do?
thanks a bunch!
Very cute outfit! My suggestion is either going light on your eye makeup, like winged black eyeliner and shimmery nude/gold eyeshadow, and going for a bright red lip (paint your nails red too.. SUPER cute!), or going for a heavier brown smokey eye with nude lips. That would match the neutral look of your outfit, but still make you look smashingly cute :) If you want a smokey eye step-by-step tutorial, check out my Makeup Breakdown page, I’ve got tips on there! I hope you like my suggestions, and have a great time!
How I lost my foundation virginity
REVIEW: CoverGirl Naturaluxe Liquid Silk Foundation, 1 oz. ($11.99)
The initial disclaimer: I am a Taylor Swift fan. Who happens to also front the ads for theCoverGirl Naturaluxe Liquid Silk Foundation. Whose face adorned a cardboard cutout in a Wal-Mart aisle when this first debuted back in December 2010. I tried a test sample and found an instant match. Having no knowledge back then of my skin tone, skin type, etc., and being in a drugstore, it was truly fate: literally, my FIRST foundation purchase. After a few months of daily use, it has performed beautifully. I am now a true convert to sheer foundation, and can have my shopping sights set on more luxury foundation products (yes, hello Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation) with confidence.
[+]: Blends brilliantly and flawlessly. With a scent that claims to be “a hint of jojoba extract and cucumber water.” I get a sheer coverage of the tiny brown spots on my face and other small blemishes, while evening out my face.
[-]: I admit I got lucky in finding a match for my skin, which immediately sold me.
So thanks, Taylor Swift.

Two of the best lipglosses I’ve ever owned: Hard Candy’s Glossaholic, in Rise & Shine and Lush.
For those who don’t know, Hard Candy used to be a high end makeup brand which was only sold in department & makeup stores, especially Sephora. It had casually disappeared out of existence, only to come back with an all new line….sold only at Walmart.
The line has proved, semi controversial, because of it’s decrease in rank and because the pacakaging’s of their products are very similar to high end makeup products. This one’s been compared alot to MAC’s Wonder Lipglass.
Honestly. even though I bought this for $5 at Walmart…it’s one of the best lip glosses I’ve had. The product goes on very easy, i LOVE the big applicator, and it’s not sticky at all. It’s actually the perfect consistency and I don’t have to layer it over & over. It’s more glittery than pigmented however, but it has a great vanilla-y taste. The clear one is infused with a mood altering elixir, to supposedly energize. I guess it worked for me, but you can never been too sure.
But anyways. I LOVE this product.

HIP Jelly Balms by L’Oreal = Love
They have been around for a while but they are exquisite. The color is highly pigmented and these are absolutely non-sticky. The Jellies are pure balmy delight. I believe that they are better than the mac balms since the texture is remarkably smooth. I enjoy the mac balms but they are sometimes sticky. The two colors I’ve tried have been Succulent (rose color) and Delectable (the apple-ish red). The next one I’ll purchase is Ripe— It looks a bit lighter than blood orange and I’m excited to try it! You’ll love them (I do!).
Down side (if any): They lack SPF— though I wonder if adding SPF would change the incredible texture

you're beautiful! and I adore you for being so interactive with your followers. I have a question. I have the Urban Decay Naked palette, but I havent used it bc it's just too pretty to use. hahah, I'm just strange like that. Anyways, what eyeshadows/eyeshadow palette would you recommend for everyday neutrals? :) drugstore and high-end. Thanks so much! :)
Thank you so much :) I’ve alwaysss wanted a Naked palette, but I’ve always been too cheap to get one! It’s definitely supposed to be the best high-end neutral palette out there. As for me, I really like all the colors and the textures of the Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quads - they don’t come with as many shades as the Naked palette, but for the price you can get about six different quads! The color is really pigmented and transfers perfectly onto your eye, and it lasts all day. They come in matte and metallic shades, so you can customize your look however you please - they’re my absolute favorite. CoverGirl also has some really pretty shimmery eyeshadow quads with great neutral colors :) I hope that helps! I’m not such an expert on the high-end side because I’m too broke to bother, but in my experience you really can get great drugstore makeup that’s high quality as well! Thanks for asking and being so sweet :)
What's your overall opinion of the Hard Candy brand? What products of theirs are the best and the worst? I keep seeing it at Walmart and I want to try it, mainly because it reminds of of Urban Decay for some reason, but I don't want to spend my money on a product that I know nothing about.
I’ve got mixed feelings about Hard Candy… I’ve found that their face products (bronzer, primers, blushes, etc) all work really well, but only some of their eye products are as high quality (I’m not a fan of the baked eyeshadows… they don’t transfer from the shadow to the brush/finger to the eye well.) The packaging is really cute (as you already know!) and they’re supposed to be high end for Walmart. If you’re interested in a specific product, I would look up specific reviews on it, because Hard Candy has it’s ups and downs… but overall, I would suggest it. It’s fun to play with, and they have so many unique products! I’d give the brand an 8/10 :)
I want new products to vamp up my makeup kit! Suggestions??
--ive got brown hair, freckles, blue eyes, biege dry skin i guess, and i like to try ANYTHING! :) thank you!
hmmm… well i can think of a few things :)
For your dry skin, try Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation (I recommend this to almost everybody). Try finding a great coral blush, that looks great on beige skintones - since you have dry skin use a cream blush, like Hard Candy Hide and Glow Cheek duo sided cheek tint or Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush!
Definitely start using hot pink lipstick!! I love the way that looks on brunettes. Try Revlon Matte lipstick in Soft Pink, or any other shade that catches your eye. Matte lipstick is so much cooler than regular lipstick, in my opinion. You could try lipstains as well… I find that Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain shows up better than CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain, but doesn’t last nearly as long.
For your eyes… find a really bright eyeliner to sweep on your upper lash line! Think yellow, turquoise, or even pink! One thick, winged line paired with mascara and a little bit of nude eyeshadow is super hot and trendy, especially for spring and summer. Try L’Oreal HIP eyeliners, pencil or gel. They’re definitely the best :)
Hope you like my suggestions!! Have fun experimenting.
Hard Candy Undercover Agent and Walk the Line Review
submitted by KISS-N-MAKEUP.tumblr.com
just started this blog but here’s one of my reviews!
under-eye brightener and concealer duo
Pros: light formula, helps de-puff eyes in the morning
Cons: stings like hell if you get it in your eye!
Pros: very good coverage, great lasting power
Cons: slightly thick when applying, you don’t get that much product compared to how much of the brightener you get
Overall: I’d buy this again in a heartbeat, a great under-eye concealer.
- and -
Walk the Line
Pros: precise and fine line, smooth to apply, lasting power, actual brush.
Cons: slight glossy finish, instantly sets on your eye so if you mess up it’s a pain.
Overall: A solid liquid eyeliner, I prefer it to my Revlon Colorstay. I’d purchase again.
I’m loving this affordable brand, high quality especially for Walmart.
you have a really amazing makeup blog. it's so helpful! whenever I need a reference to anything beauty related, I can just come to you :) you're terrific, keep it up and dont stop updating! your tutorial pics are cute too. you're super pretty.
do you think it's practical to wear lipstick on an everyday basis? If I already wear lots of eyeliner and mascara? I want to try it,but I'm nervous people in school will think Im too fancy.
Thank you so much!! :D I’m glad you like my blog.
I think lipstick is terrific to wear every day, depending on where you’ll be going. If you’re in middle school/high school, it might be a bit much, unless you pair it with less eye makeup. If you go to college, people don’t care as much about the way you look. Lipstick is fun, it makes you happy when you wear it, it’s flattering, and there is no reason not to slick some on your lips whenever you damn well please :D
BRIGHT Eyeshadow Look for Even the Not-So-Daring!
Bright eyeshadow is something that I have always tried to pull off, but have never really been able to. That was until I figured out a way to make it look a lot more natural, casual, and pretty!! Here is a simple eye how-to that will leave you (and your crush) breathless!
All you’re going to need is some good eyeshadow, BRIGHT colors of course! And some natural fiber eyeshadow brushes for application. You’ll also need some liquid eyeliner and mascara to finish off the look! I’m using Wet-n-Wild Color Icon tri-colored palettes in Spoiled Brat and Sugar Pink, with Physicians Formula Eye Boosting 2-in-1 Liquid Eyeliner and Maybelline The Falsies mascara.
To get started: take a light highlight color (I’m using the white from Sugar Pink) and sweep it all over your eyelid, including your browbone and inner corner. This is going to be a pretty highlight, and will help keep it natural. Over this, use your main bright color (mine is the hot pink from Spoiled Brat) and pat it firmly onto your eyelid, going slightly into the crease of your eye but not over. Patting eyeshadow instead of sweeping will help you apply more pigment, making the true color stand out.
Next, take a shimmery silver shadow (mine is from Spoiled Brat) and pat this onto the inner part of your lid, blending into the lashline and the crease. You’ll be covering up about half of the pink, but some will still show through. If you are using a lighter main color, like yellow, use a shimmery nude shadow with yellow undertones instead of silvery grey.
Now it’s time to contour your eye - get a dark brown eyeshadow (I’m using one from Sugar Pink) and sweep it gently in the crease of your eyelid with a small, flat eyeshadow brush. Make a ‘c’ motion and curve it around the outside corner of your eye, blending into the lash line. This is going to give the bright color more definition, but add maturity to the look.
The final step is to line your upper lashes with black or dark brown liquid liner, all the way from your inside corner out, making a slight wing at the outside corner. Add mascara to your upper and lower lashes to make them stand out.
You’re done! Pair this look with a little bronzer or blush and a neutral lip, and you’re ready to go… don’t put bright colors on your lips and your eyes though, or you’ll look like a clown. I love this look, and I’m really surprised that such an intense color can look so flattering, even on my skin.
I hope you all enjoy this tutorial as much as I have, and put it to good use!! Bright eyeshadow is something that anyone can pull off, if they do it right. Please let me know what you think of this tutorial, ask DrugstorePrincess a beauty question of your own or suggest looks that you want to see in the future!! :D
A Simple and Sexy Makeup Look for Everyone!
Since I’ve gotten about a hundred requests for a video tutorial (which my shitty webcam simply won’t let me do), I decided to go for the next best thing.. step by step instructions, with pictures, for creating some of my favorite makeup looks.
This is a very simple smokey eye - I have used darker colors here so that they will show up on camera, but normally I just use a neutral brown palette.
The full look consists of:
- CoverGirl NatureLuxe Liquid Foundation
- Maybelline ColorExpert Smokey Shadow Quads
- Maybelline Collosal Volum’ mascara
- Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush/Bronzer
- Physicians Formula Mineral Matte Finishing Veil
- Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Soft Nude.
Start off with foundation, if you wish, to give yourself an even, smooth base to start with. If you don’t want to put foundation on your face, put some on your eyelids anyway as a cheap, multitasking eyeshadow primer!
Next, line your upper lash line with a nice liquid liner. Follow that with mascara - it is easier to apply mascara before your eyeshadow, because then you won’t get any black smudges that mess up your shadow afterwards!!
Use a large eyeshadow brush to apply the lightest color of your eyeshadow all over your eyelid - browbone and inner corner included! This will make your eyes look wide awake, as well as provide a base for your other eyeshadow colors.
Next find a very small, flat eyeshadow brush and wet it with water before dipping into the medium color of your palette. The water will make it easier for the eyeshadow to show deep pigments, and your eyeshadow will last longer as well. Apply this shade all over your lids, and up into your crease as well. Often it is easiest to trace the shape of the lid, and then filling in your line. That way you don’t smudge any shadow outside of where you want the color to go.
Depending on the palette, your next color choice will be the next darkest color. Using the same brush, gently swipe this color in your crease, sweeping in a small ‘c’ motion around your outer corner and along your lash line. Make sure the line in your crease is very exact, because otherwise it will look sloppy (this is my biggest challenge, my eyes hurt if I stare into a mirror too hard haha!)
Now it’s time to blend - use a blending brush and blur the lines between the color on your lid and the color in your crease. Blending is very important to the integrity of this look, because sharp lines make you look more severe, dramatic and dressed up, and this is supposed to be a bit more casual. Add a little bit of highlighting color to your browbone and inside corner if you see fit.
Now that your eyes are done, you should focus on making the rest of your face match. Dip a blush brush in your blusher color - light pink looks best for darker eyeshadow, and coral looks best with lighter browns. Swirl the blush on the apples of your cheeks only, and blending outwards so it looks natural. The best way to blend blush is to take a clean powder brush and brush it over your cheeks in circular motions. Then top off your face with a mattefying or translucent powder, which will set your makeup and make it last the whole day!
If you eyeshadow is lighter in color, you could go with a brighter lip. However I love the look of nude lipstick with every makeup style. If your lips are chapped, scrub them gently with a warm washcloth and apply lip balm before your lipstick. This will get rid of the dead skin and provide a barrier between your lip color and your dehydrated lips. You may also top with clear gloss if you should wish - I choose not to, because I like to be able to kiss my boyfriend without him getting grossed out!! :D
This concludes this look! I love to wear this type of makeup to work, or when I need to be dressed up during the day. I try to keep it in the brown family so that it is not so harsh - but the same technique could be used with dark eyeshadow for evening!
Please let me know if you approve of this mini-tutorial. I should be getting a new camera soon, so the picture quality will be improving! You can also put a question in my ask to request a specific makeup look, which I will try to get to in the couple days following! Thank you all, and have fun experimenting!!
hi dear =) do you know of a good eyeliner for tightlining? i've been using annabelle's and it smudges on my lower waterline, plus it's completely gone in like 20 minutes D:
helloo :) it’s really hard to find a good eyeliner for tightlining your eyes. Annabelle’s isn’t supposed to be a very good liner for that, so I’d drop that pretty quick haha. Try a liner that’s supposed to be long-lasting, like Revlon Colorstay or Physician’s Formula Eye Definer Felt-Tip Eye Marker. Tightlining is intended to be done with a brush, so you might want to test out a gel eyeliner. My favorite is Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Enhancing Gel Liner (comes in three shades according to your eye color), but L’Oreal HIP has a really great gel liner too. They come with the perfect small brushes for lining your eyes, and they last for ages! :) I hope that helps you out!! Thanks for asking
