Hello! My biggest recommendation for makeup remover is actually olive oil! It works really fast to get rid of even the most stubborn waterproof makeup. I just pour a little bit on a cotton ball and then press it against my eyes gently for a few seconds. The oil eats away at the mascara, liner, etc and makes it really easy to just wipe off the excess. From there I just use my favorite face wash to cleanse my face, and use a makeup wipe to get rid of the residue along my lashlines.
Olive oil is great because it’s natural, inexpensive, and is actually good for your skin and lashes! It will condition and moisturize, and no this type of oil will not break you out. It takes a lot of time and pain out of removing your makeup, and I use it on my entire face because it is so effective and makes my face feel soft and healthy.
As for a bottled remover, my current favorite is Sephora’s Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. It is an oil-in-water type of remover, and works quickly to melt away that stubborn mascara! ($10 at Sephora)
I always use olive oil to remove my makeup… you only need a tiny amount and even the most stubborn makeup melts away. Olive oil is good for your skin, doesn’t contain any irritating chemicals or added fragrances/dyes, and compared to most makeup removers, is less expensive.
It’s been years since I’ve used much of anything else. I’ve always had pretty negative reactions to bottled makeup removers, and this is much more gentle and actually improves my skin instead of irritating it! :)
